Most, if not all of the download links on this blog are down. Sorry for the inconvenience. We are working to re-up new links for the more popular and time tested content. Sorry for the lack of posts and updates to the Fear of a Wack Planet blog and radio show in recent months. We have relocated home base from Crested Butte, to Boulder. Thank you Crested Butte and 90.3 KBUT for your support through the years, and for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the amazing little community you have out there.

As much as we are going to miss Crested Butte, we are equally if not more excited about the possibilities here in Boulder and Denver, CO. So far I’ve been introduced to two great local radio stations, 88.5 KGNU and AM 1190 KVCU. Both stations already have long running, kick-ass hip hop shows. Our goal here is to integrate in to the local hip hop community and provide a unified platform for with which everyone can express there own ideas, art, music, styles, personalities, etc. Hears the basic formula: a gang of local djs, each with there own tastes and personalities + lots of great local events take part in = great content for the blog and podcast!

Stayed tuned to the Fear of a Wack Planet for more exclusive interviews with your fav MC’s and producers, dj mixes, concert listings, reviews podcast and more! The Fear of a Wack Planet will carry on.

Rhymesayers – Soundset Festival 2011 Line Up

For the 4th year running, indie Hip Hop label Rhymesayers is putting on it’s annual Soundset Festival. It is all happening Sunday May 29th 2011, in Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minn. Its a good line up for fans and a great showcase for artists. Props to Rhumesayers for putting on this festival and featuring not only their own artists but artists from other labels as well. And its cheap. I think it’s like $35. Find more info and get tickets here

Tyler the Creator – Yonkers (Video)

Yet another new artist you should get familiar with, is Tyler the Creator, front man for Odd Future. Odd Future is a hip hop collective based out of Los Angeles, CA. Odd Future is short for Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, and it can be seen abreviated OFWGKTA. As a collective they have release several mixtapes which you can get for free at oddfuture.com

Check out this video for Yonkers, a track off Tylers’ second album, Goblin, which is set to be released May 10, 2011

On the strength of these mixtapes and their web presence, OFWGKTA have sold out shows in NYC and London. Since the beginning of this year they have performed on the Jimmy Kimmel show and at the MTVu Woodie Awards. They held a showcase at SXSW in Austin in March. In April, they are set to perform at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in CA. And later this summer they’re on the bills of the massive UK festivals of Reading and Leeds. Not a bad start for the group. .
